Minibus hire Uxbridge students, families and teams book

Heathrow in twenty minutes, Brunel student groups and trips out along the M40 and M25, from the western edge of London.

Uxbridge is about as far west as London goes. It's the end of the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, the start of the M40, and twenty minutes from Heathrow. Minibus hire Uxbridge groups book reflects that. A lot of airport runs, a lot of student trips from Brunel University, and days out heading west along the M40 towards Oxford and the Chilterns.

From our base in SE1, Uxbridge is about an hour outside the rush hour, along the A40.

Heathrow, twenty minutes away

Heathrow is close to Uxbridge, usually fifteen to twenty-five minutes depending on the terminal and the time of day. The A408 and the A4 take you to the northern side of the airport, and the M25 to Terminal 5.

For families flying out, it's one of the easiest airport runs in London. A pickup at 4:30am for a 7am flight is plenty. Coming home, the driver tracks your flight and waits at the airport's official pickup area.

Plenty of Uxbridge residents also work at the airport, and we run staff transport for teams, especially for early and late shifts when public transport is thin. For airline and airport teams travelling together to training or events, a minibus from Uxbridge is quick and simple.

Minibus hire Uxbridge for Brunel students

Brunel University London's campus is on the south side of Uxbridge, and students and staff book us for sports fixtures, field trips, society events and away days. Brunel has a strong sports programme, and its teams travel to fixtures across the south of England. Its facilities also host training camps and competitions, so visiting teams staying nearby need transport between their hotel and the campus.

For student bookings, give us a named contact and a mobile number that'll be answered on the day, plus the society or club name for the booking paperwork. On move-in and move-out days the campus is packed, so fix a meeting point well away from the halls. For trips out of London, we'll plan the timings so the group gets back at a reasonable hour.

The M40, the A40 and days out

The A40 Western Avenue runs from central London to Uxbridge, then becomes the M40 heading north-west towards Oxford and Birmingham. That makes Uxbridge a good starting point for days out in Oxford, the Cotswolds and the Chilterns.

Oxford is around an hour from Uxbridge. Bekonscot Model Village in Beaconsfield is about twenty minutes away, and it's a favourite with primary schools. Windsor is about twenty-five minutes, and Legoland, just outside Windsor, is about the same. Both are busy in the school holidays, so arrive early. Both are popular with schools and families.

The town centre and the hospital

Uxbridge town centre, compact and busy, has two shopping centres, the Chimes and the Pavilions, and a busy high street. The bus station and the Underground station are in the middle of town, and the roads around them are busy with buses.

The Grand Union Canal runs along the western side of Uxbridge, and canal walks and boat trips draw groups in the summer. Ruislip Lido, to the north, is another popular day out.

Hillingdon Hospital, on the southern edge of Uxbridge, is the main hospital for the area, and staff book us for team events and leaving dos.

Uxbridge's own nightlife is modest, so plenty of student and staff groups head into central London for a night out. A minibus back west at 1am is far easier than the last train from Baker Street.

The Battle of Britain Bunker, on the old RAF Uxbridge site, is a popular school trip and a good stop for history groups, with a visitor centre that explains how the air defence of the south-east was run in 1940.

Roads around Uxbridge

The A40 and M40 meet at Hillingdon Circus and the junctions just to the west of Uxbridge, and those are busy at peak times. The M25 runs along the western edge of the town, with junction 16 for the M40 and junction 15 for the M4 and Heathrow.

The A4020 Uxbridge Road runs east through Hillingdon and Hayes towards Southall and Ealing.

Just over the boundary are Denham, Iver and Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire. Our pickups are within London, so if your trip starts just outside, call us and we'll tell you straight away whether we can do it. It's slow at peak times, with buses and traffic lights.

Busy weekends at Brunel

Move-in and move-out weekends bring a lot of traffic. If your booking falls on one of those weekends, book early and allow extra time around Brunel.
